Yes Yates, But his point is to output that as a string.may be so that the
transformation produces a C++ code or some such stuff??

Hi Vinoth,
Unless I'm mistaken sprintf() is a C/C++ function. You are writing
XSLT. What makes you think that the XSLT processor is going to
understand a C/C++ function?
You might be able to do what you want by writing an extension function.
See the documentation of your XSLT processor.

I need to define a variable in XSL sheet as follows:
<xsl:variable name="entering_log" select='sprintf(log_str, "\n%s: %d: %s:
%s", __FILE__,__LINE__,fn, "Entering"); log_func();' ></xsl:variable>
I'm getting an error: "Could not find function: sprintf()" from the
XSL engine. How to escape the characters ( ) " ' so that they will be
interpreted as normal text by the XSL engine.
