you could use the str:tokenize ( www.exslt.org ) and make everything a token
to be examined for further processing (
e.g. I am fine turns into
<token>I</token><token>am</token><token>fine</token>
not quite sure u need that kind of firepower
or something simpler at http://www.dpawson.co.uk/xsl/sect2/replace.html
