It is actually very rare to declare any template for text nodes, you
certainly don't need to do so here.
Something like:
<p class="title">
<xsl:apply-templates select="titleTemplate"/>
</p>
<xsl:apply-templates/>
Don't you just want
Something like:
<xsl:template match="title">
<p class="title">
<xsl:apply-templates/>
</p>
</xsl:template>
?
