yes (and already been answered in this weeks archives I think)

 <table xmlns="http://abcd"; border="1" bgcolor="#E0E0E0">
	 <caption align="right" class="listingTitle">bar.java</caption>
	 <tr>

			<pre

so that is pre in the http://abcd namespace


  <xsl:template match="pre[@class='programlisting']">

matches pre in not in any namespace, which is not the same as you have.

You want

  <xsl:template match="h:pre[@class='programlisting']">

and xmlns:h="http://abcd"; in your xsl:stylesheet element.

Incidentally if this is html why are they in http://abcd
