Re: text()
You are not using xhtml namespace in the stylesheet:
This one works:
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
version="1.0"
xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
>
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:apply-templates select="xhtml:html/xhtml:body/text()"/>
</xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="xhtml:html/xhtml:body/text()">
<xsl:if test="string(.)">
<wrap-it>
<xsl:value-of select="."/>
</wrap-it>
</xsl:if>
</xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="*"/>
</xsl:stylesheet>
