Your primary problem here is having <xsl:template> as a child of
<xsl:for-each>. <xsl:template> can be a child of <xsl:stylesheet>, and
nothing else.

Subject: xsl:template combined with xt:document
Hello Everyone!
First of all I'd like to thanx all the xsl-list's people for their
precious help!
Here's my problem : I have a piece of code like that :
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:xt="http://www.jclark.com/xt"
extension-element-prefixes="xt">
<xsl:output method="html"/>
...
<xsl:for-each select="child::TEXT">
<xt:document method="html" href="{$file}_{@xml:lang}.html">
<xsl:template match="LEVEL1"> <-- this is the line 14
<!-- some html code here... -->
</xsl:template>
</xt:document>
</xsl:for-each>
when I run xt, I have the following erro message :
file:/users/dexheim1/XML/test3.xsl:14: expected action not xsl:template
My goal is to produce several html files from 1 xml description file.
With that code, I succeeded in outputing
several html files but they are filled only with the character data.
They aren't truly html formatted though.
I hope it isn't a dummy question...
Thanks and regards!
Benjamin.
