Is there an XPath that will allow me to
output/flag the first occurance of an element
within a document, during a for-each loop?
Thanks in advance,
Lee Goddard

Sure you can match the first occurance using a test about the position
like:
<xsl:if test="position()='1'">
..... What you need to do to the first occurance
</xsl:if>
