Bug #: 14021
Summary: --sysroot=/ not a no-op
Product: systemtap
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: translator
AssignedTo: systemtap@sourceware.org
ReportedBy: fche@redhat.com
Classification: Unclassified
With --sysroot=/, one does not get the same behavior as with no --sysroot set
at all. This is counterintuitive.
% stap -p4 --sysroot=/ -e 'probe kernel.function("sys_open") {
print_backtrace() } '
-> kernel/module debuginfo not found, even though it's around.
With and without sysroot, code starts diverging at dwflpp::setup_dwfl_kernel.
