You might also be able to use SYSTEMTAP_STAPRUN to point to the consolehelper
symlink, and SYSTEMTAP_REAL_UID/SYSTEMTAP_REAL_GID so it can drop permission
when running stapio. We have the scripts 'run-stap' and 'run-staprun' which do
this to run without having setuid -- that might be a starting point for you too.
