Hmm...perhaps spoke too soon. The machine is not totally unresponsive (won't respond to pings) so I suspect it has gone down. I do not have access to the console on this machine here so I'm not sure what happened. I will try to find a machine that I have physical access to or remote console and try again...

Therefore it may be that there is something in systemtap
