Bug ID: 22937
Summary: Greek (el_GR, el_CY) locale actually need ab_alt_mon
Product: glibc
Version: 2.27
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: localedata
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: digitalfreak at lingonborough dot com
CC: libc-locales at sourceware dot org
Target Milestone: ---
It has been spotted that Greek language has actually visible difference between
the abbreviated nominative and the abbreviated genitive case for some month
names, for example May:
nom.: "Μάιος" -> gen.: "Μαΐου"
abbr. nom.: "Μάι" -> gen.: "Μαΐ"
July:
nom.: "Ιούλιος" -> gen.: "Ιουλίου"
abbr. nom.: "Ιούν" -> gen.: "Ιουλ"
and more month names with similar differences.
The difference is in the acute accents. So these month names need to be
imported from CLDR into the correct locations: abmon and ab_alt_mon.
