For our build machines it works on 
i386/ia64/alpha/ppc/sparc/sparc64/s390/arm/mips compiled with a
patched gcc 2.95.3 or newer compiler without bigger problems.

So I think it is really time to make a 2.2.5pre1 release for wide
testing.
