(I would cc Rich as well per normal libc-alpha list conventions, but his
mail server is unhappy with the fact that I use an eyrie.org envelope
sender but send outgoing mail through Stanford's SMTP servers.)

The sd_notify code in question is 68 lines (including whitespace and
