Do you think the standard permits the race that this patch teaches the
testsuite to tolerate?
If so, do you think it would be possible with some change to Linux or
glibc to close the race anyway, and would it be worth it?
The patch seems like a good compromise for now to me, for what it's
worth (but it would, wouldn't it :)).
