There's no link to this from the main site.  It's not really obvious that
the bottom of the wiki main page is where to find that.  A link on the
Development tab would make sense.

There's no link to this either.  A link to something more specific about
releases belongs in the "Current Status" section (i.e., something that
gives the status of each release branch).  A link to the page about
release maintenance belongs on the Development page.

In general, I'm not sure how worthwhile it is to have too much detailed
information on the main site rather than keeping more of it in wiki pages.

The main page has a very different look from the rest of the
www.gnu.org/software/foo pages.  It might make sense to rework it more in
the common mold, with most of the specific subpages just living on the wiki.
