This is just a poor excuse to not get the code inglibc to perform well.
 And beside, this all is a complete non-issue in the supported mode of
operation: using shared libraries.  Static linking is nothing anybody
should ever do.  And once again: stop it.  There won't be a change.
Submit improvements to the existing code.
