undefnied reference to errno

All,
I'm an trying to compile glibc verusion 2.2.3 and when it tries to compule
memusagestat I get a bunch of errors stating that there is an undefined
reference to errno. This is most puzzlign since this is a clean tar file
that a just downloaded. any help would be great.
