I'm not interested in spending the time proving it.  I'd much rather
just check in the earlier patch I proposed that would fix only mips.
I've just implemented what Roland suggested.  I certainly don't have
resources or even access to all other existing architectures to test
on them.

That said, the transformation I've applied to all files is very
trivial, and it takes just a few seconds of inspection to see that it
trivially works.  Of course, you're free to keep on not looking at the
patches I submit before emitting your biased opinions.
