patch approval

Ulrich,
While the exact meaning of --enable-oldest-abi is being
hashed out elewhere in the list, could you look at Franz's
comments in...

http://sources.redhat.com/ml/libc-alpha/2002-08/msg00183.html

and the proposed revised patches I posted for glibc trunk
and glibc-2-2-branch...

http://sources.redhat.com/ml/libc-alpha/2002-08/msg00188.html
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/libc-alpha/2002-08/msg00189.html

It would be nice if the libgcc-compat changes weren't delayed
until the --enable-oldest-abi issue is totally sorted out.
I have built a glibc cvs on entropy.crashing.org using this
patch for the trunk and it exhibits no problems with symbols
from libgcc-compat now (unlike the original one without the
wrapper). However it does retain the internal symbols in
divdi3.c as Franz requested. I avoided the GLIBC_PRIVATE
approach since that doesn't exist in glibc-2-2-branch thus
would break the continuity of the two versions of the patch.
Thanks in advance.
                                  Jack
