My results with little bit hacked pre2 are:
built fine on i386, i686, alpha, alphaev6, sparc, sparcv9, sparc64, ia64
(gcc 2.96-69 (RH), on ia64 gnupro), passed make check on
i386, i686, alpha, alphaev6, sparc64 (with the exception of ex11 failing on
i386, but it fails from time to time everywhere), haven't tested sparc,
sparcv9 nor ia64. On ia64 H.J.'s patch is needed for statically linked
programs though.
