libc-980503

I finished compiling and installing libc-980503 on an
i586-pc-linux-gnu, with egcs 2.90.27 and binutils 2.9.0.3.
Things seem to be working well.
However, should I now get rid of the old 'ldconfig' and the
'ld.so.conf files' for libc5? I read all the documentation I could
find, but this is not clear to me.

Also while compiling grep-2.2 and gperf-2.7, two errors were revealed
in the distribution.
ln libc-980503/libio/stdio.h, line 586 has an extra comma after the
first occurrence of '__P'.
In libc-980503/io/sys/stat.h, is missing a comma after '__lsxtat'

Fixing these two enabled compiling of both programs.
