GDB (and Insight) supports RDI targets through serial/parallel ports or over Ethernet.
If you have an interface to your multiICE that speaks RDI, then it is supported.
Insight does not have an entry for the parallel port -- only for serial and Ethernet -- but that should not be too difficult to fix.
In the meanwhile, test your ability to connect with the command line interface.
$ gdb -nw
(gdb) target rdi <your parallel device>
