Hi,
I'm having nightmares installing glibc on my SuSE linux 6.1 system that
came with glibc-2.0.7.
I would like to run StarOffice 5.2 which needs a newer glibc than what I
had, so I compiled glibc-2.1.3.
First, I installed the new 2.1.3 with prefix /usr, and most programs
worked fine or could be recompiled. But not one I absolutely need. So I
had to undo the changes from a backup.
Next, I installed to /usr/local/glibc-2.1.3
I can't make StarOffice install, it will complain about a too old glibc.
If I say export LD_LIBRARY_PATH='/usr/local/glibc-2.1.3'
installation no longer complains, but fails with an errormessage about
undefined symbol
How can I tell a binary program to use the glibc in
/usr/local/glibc-2.1.3?
Many thanks,
Jan.
