i am by no means a powerpc isa expert. is VSX (xxlxor) required on all power7
systems ? are there any pre-conditions that must be met before the insn can be
used (like switching register modes akin to x86 fpu/mmx) ? the failure is
pretty much 100% reliable for us :).
