Bug ID: 15666
Summary: alpha missing __sqrt*_finite
Product: glibc
Version: 2.17
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: ports
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: jsm28 at gcc dot gnu.org
CC: carlos at redhat dot com, roland at gnu dot org, rth at gcc dot gnu.org
Host: alpha*-*
The alpha libm.abilist is missing __sqrt{,f,l}_finite.
It appears the alpha-specific sqrt implementations are missing those aliases.
They should be added - of course at a new symbol version specific to alpha,
since they weren't in fact in 2.15 as they were for other architectures. But
there's a complication that it appears __sqrt{,f}_finite would have been
present already for builds not using the sysdeps/alpha/alphaev6 directory. So
if building without that directory does indeed work, I suppose you need to
provide compat symbols for those two at GLIBC_2.15, for compatibility with any
binaries built against such a glibc, in addition to having all three at a new
version such as GLIBC_2.18.
