And who do you reliably recognize these files?

I think it's just plain wrong to place these scripts in the lib directories. 
The mechanisms gdb uses to locate them allow the files to be placed anywhere. 
This is just some lazy developer at Intel dropping the file in a directory
convenient to her/him.
