Gnats barfing on PR gdb/927

- Subject: Gnats barfing on PR gdb/927
I've done three things to PR gdb/927 today. One of them quietly
failed, and one of them failed with a new error that I've never seen before.
(1) At 12:39:57 EST, I mailed in a reply, but the reply never appeared
on the audit trail.
(2) At 15:20:23 EST (three hours later), I mailed in another reply,
and the reply has not appeared on the audit trail.
(3) At 12:25:09 PST (five minutes later), I used GnatsWeb to change the
state from "open" to "feedback". This part appears to be fine.
(4) At 20:28:01Z (about three minutes later), GnatsWeb sent me a
bounce message: "Can't open PR /sourceware/gnats/gdb-db/gdb/927."
(5) At 20:28:21Z (twenty seconds later), GnatsWeb sent me another
error mail: "renamed `gnats8dbTbB' to `.gnats8dbTbB' pending human
intervention."
The e-mails for (1), (2), (4), and (5) appear below.
Johan Vermeire has had trouble filing PR's with MS Win2K+SP3+IE6,
so he switched to Solaris+Netscape. This may be contributory;
there may be something in the PR that was initialized badly.

These symptoms look like the output from using SunOS Make and
separate source and build directories.
Please run this:
btm0gn> make --version
And let us know what it says.
Can you try building with Gnu Make? Gnu Make might be installed
as 'gmake' on your machine, or you might have to download it from
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/make/make-3.80.tar.gz .

Ah, Daniel J is right, here is the problem:
btm0gn:/home/jvme/bin/gdb-5.3/build> /home/jvme/bin/gdb-5.3/gdb/configure
^^^
You have to do this:
/home/jvme/bin/gdb-5.3/configure
The gdb-5.3 package has a subdirectory named 'gdb', but you have to
configure the whole package.
