Gdb 5.2 and earlier were unable to read DWARF output from gcc 3.2.

Try upgrading to gdb 5.3 (the latest released version).

If that doesn't work, you need to tell us:

  the version of gdb you are using
  the system you are using
  the actual error you are seeing
