I don't think there is currently an MI command for this.
You may be able to write one in Python without too
much effort.  (Perhaps hackily though.)

Checkpoints in general seem a bit weird to me.
It's unclear if people use them much; they are
only available for Linux and they don't work with
threaded inferiors.
