dirname points to a garbage address. valgrind or address sanitizer is good at
finding such problems, you can either
1) run arm-none-eabi-gdb with valgrind, like 'valgrind ./gdb/gdb',
2) or rebuild gdb with address sanitizer, $ make CXXFLAGS="-O0 -g3
-fsanitize=address" gdb
