Sorry for the very long delay.  I talked with Tom today and I said I would look
at this patch.

Can you extract this patch against the current sources, and post to the archer
mailing list? That way we can review/change/review the changes to the list.

Also, if this patch is approved, I believe you will need papers for assignment
with the FSF. Do you have them?
