Still there with gdb-5.3, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.1, ...
Doesn't seem to be present with:
a) gdb-5.3, glibc-2.3.1, gcc-3.3 20030220 (prerelease) for target
i686-pc-linux-gnu
b) gdb-5.3, gcc-3.3 20030218 (prerelease) for target i586-pc-msdosdjgpp
So this problem seems to be fixed in GCC-3.3 branch.
