GDB 5.0 linux-threads.c module (*not* the lin-threads.c
libthread_db-based module).  When a multithreaded
program is run, linuxthreads_new_objfile() 
reads several variables from the objfile including
linuxthreads_max.  When the inferior process is killed,
the state is reset (linuxthreads_max = 0), indicating
that the program is not multithreaded.

But, when it's re-run from the CLI, the objfile
is not re-examined, and linuxthreads_max stays 0,
so gdb thinks the inferior is non-multithreaded
even though it is.

Here's the sequence of events:
Initial startup of "gdb progname":
  new_objfile(0)
  new_objfile(foo) -> read pthread vars, set linuxthreads_max
"run"
  create_inferior()
  new_objfile(bar)
  ..
"kill"
  linuxthreads_kill()
  mourn_inferior() -> linuxthreads_max = 0
"run"
  create_inferior()

What should happen in the 2nd "run" is that
linuxthreads_max and the other variables
are re-read from the objfile.  Or, mourn_inferior
shouldn't nuke them; only changing the objfile
should nuke them.

I've provided a Linux binary 
that exhibits this behaviour.  A normal
Linux multithreaded program does not, because
most of them use libpthread and thus use
the lin-threads module, not linux-threads.c.

The attached program uses a home-grown thread library
based on clone() and the linux-thread API for making
GDB thread-aware.  Note that it will NOT work
on current GDB CVS tree, because linux-threads.c
has been disabled.  You need 5.0 release.
