I started looking at some vtable-related issues, like nicely printing
vtables, and why "set print vtbl on" doesn't work.
This series is the outcome.
Some of these are trivial and I will just put them in.
One requires a doc review.
Patch 5 may be controversial, as I think it removes compatibility with
some old GCC versions.
