I agree completely. Last year Rob Savoye was claiming to be working on
a new and improved DejaGNU, but there's no evidence of progress; in fact,
his site seems to be incommunicado. He had also created a Sourceforge
project, but the only information on it says:
I'm sorry, this project is removed while I work out some nasty release
problems, none of which are technical ones... I have hopes these can be
solved, and active development is continuing.
My sense of responsibility urges me to take up the banner before things fall
apart, but in my current situation that's not very realistic. Cygnus
engineers are the best candidates since they have access to the greatest
variety of hosts and targets, but somebody would have to be motivated
enough to make the case to mgmt that they should get the dedicated time.
