I suggested that just to avoid the extra 18mm of blank space at the bottom on
A4. But it can lead to some trouble with different placement of pictures for
each target. For instance, if the picture just fits into the bottom area of
A4, TeX will place it onto the next page if using US letter, leaving an ugly
blank space.
