- Subject: [ECOS] Information about porting redboot
Hello everyone!
I have a few questions about the porting of redboot.
I'm working with an xscale custom board, derived (with
very small differences) from the ixdp465 of intel.
I'm using RedBoot just like a bootloader for a
SnapGear
Linux Operating system.
I'm following both the redboot porting guide and the
intel howto about customiziong redboot.
It seems that i've succesfully ported the "base HAL",
so
the new redboot works, the memory is read correctly.
Now i've to add the support for an Analog Device
Coder, embedded on my board.
My questions are:
1) The init of this device must be done by redboot or
i can let the "high level" OS to do this?
2) if i want to add the support for this AD component,
what steps are required?
It's enough to add a package with sources, .cdl and
include files? or i have to modify some platform
layout files?
thanks in adv!
claudio
