I tried this myself:
$ ecosconfig new pc_rltk8139 net
$ emacs ecos.ecc - FLOPPY startup
$ ecosconfig tree
$ make -s
headers finished
build finished
$ make tests
this bombs when linking the pci tests becasue the floppy startup has
restribted memory and the image is too big:

However if i do:

So the hal tests compile fine....
Are you realy sure you have the latest code with no local changes?
