Re: A basic question

Hi folks,
Looking at the increase in percentage such posts on ecos-discuss list, I was wondering why not have a separate list (say ecos-commercial) where various companies working on eCos advertise about what specialised or tweaked up solutions they have in offering that is not there in anoncvs eCos. that way ecos-discuss will truly remain ecos-discuss and it will be convenient for anyone to get all similar posts about offering from one list(archive) rather than having to search other ecos-* lists, where such information lot of times is under different subjects, coz posted in reply to some issue.

Can I install eCos on a board with Motorola ColdFire 5282 (512Kb of internal
flash) processor and with 4Mb of external SRAM? I would like to be able to
use protocol stacks (Ethernet, tftp).

eCos itself with networking stack will fit in this footprint with ease.
The only caveat is that the contributed MCF support in the anonCVS repository is completely broken and does not build. This port has been deprecated (and I still think should be cvs rm'd with an appropriate message to avoid repeated confusion).

eCosPro contains a complete and independent implementation for the
ColdFire architecture and supports a number of the newer devices
and targets from Motorola. eCosPro availability and pricing queries
may be directed to info@ecoscentric.com.
