why I cann't set up the IP address in ecos application?

Hi,all:
Now I have set up a application on ecos in samsung snds platform without
redboot running on it.I buried the executable application which had been
linked with ecos libs in ROM on snds.and I have set up IP address on ecos
configtools under basic networking framework option.But when I run the
application and then ping the snds with IP address I have set up,can not
ping through!
why?
Can someone give me some answer?
