The plan has always been that ecos.db would be completely generated by
an admin tool, never hand-edited. This is easy enough when adding new
epk's using ecosadmin. When you create a new package in an existing
repository, or when a new package appears in CVS, things get more
difficult. There are other complications, e.g. the ecos.db file keeps
track of targets as well as packages, managing documentation becomes
more difficult, etc.
Hopefully all this will happen in the 2.1 timeframe.
