viper - redboot over ethernet problem

Hi all,

I want to start using ethernet to download and debug code on the A&M
Viper board, but I am having problems connecting to the board. I am
currently using a serial connection for download and debug.

I have tried to ping the viper from my host PC (Win 98) after resetting
the viper. If I run ping fairly quickly on the host, I can get two or
three responses before the viper stops responding. I also tried to
telnet to the viper on port 9000 right after reset. I saw the Redboot
prompt but got no response when I started typing commands.

My Redboot configuration is:

RedBoot> fconfig -l
Run script at boot: false
Use BOOTP for network configuration: false
Local IP address: 206.234.219.88
Default server IP address: 206.234.219.89
Network hardware address [MAC]: 0x08:0x00:0x3E:0x28:0x7A:0xB8
GDB connection port: 9000
Network debug at boot time: false
RedBoot>

I set the MAC address using the address I obtained by running arp -a on
the host after one of the successful pings. Is this the correct MAC
address of the Viper?

Any help would be appreciated.
