I propose that we rename the 'startinglinenumber' attribute on
verbatim environments to 'initiallinenumber'.
The name 'startinglinenumber' might give the impression that that's
the first line that should be in the environment, rather than that
it's the number that will be used for the first line.
In other words, one might imagine:
<programlisting startinglinenumber='90'>
one hundred lines of text
<programlisting>
would display only lines 90-100 of the listing which is not what we
mean.
(Yes, that might be useful functionality, but that's not my point :-)
