Just catching up on this thread.
Sebastian, you've mentioned repeatedly that jadetex isn't given the
contextual information it needs to pop into and out of URL mode (or
filename mode). This clearly strikes me as a problem in the TeX
backend to (Open)?Jade.
Directing this question to the OpenJade hackers, if any are around, is
this very hard to fix in OpenJade? In DSSSL subsystem in which the
backends operate, there must be some way to sense and then notate this
state...
