[docbook-apps] imagedata as olink anchors

Title: Message
Hi,

Two questions about HTML output and images.

1. What is the recommend method to make a graphic clickable? That is, in HTML, using <img> as the anchor point, as in

<a hef="../auto/autoroute_global_route.htm"><img src="" border=0 height=26 width=54></a>

I tried to embed <medioabject>/<imagedata> elements in the <onlink> anchor, but that does not seem to be permitted.

2. How do you create a client-side image map in HTML? I found the following in the <imageobjectco> description, but an example would help me understand this better.

In online environments, the processing system may be able to instantiate the linking relationships between the callout marks on the image and the annotations. For example, an HTML presentation system might use the coordinate information to construct a client-side image map. Some processing systems may even be able to go a step further and generate the callout marks automatically from the coordinate information. But this level of sophistication is not mandatory.

Thanks for any pointers.
