applets in docbook?

Is it possible to include an applet in docbook? I imagine something like:
<mediaoject>
<applet>...</applet>
<imageobject>...</imageobject>
</mediaobject>
Currently I am using a ulink to an html file which contains the applet, but this seems like a kludge.
