Further investigation shows that pdfjadetex writes a file "example.out"
for all the bookmarks, like:

\BOOKMARK [1][]{0.1.1}{}{}
\BOOKMARK [0][]{1.0}{Table of Contents}{}
\BOOKMARK [0][]{2.0}{Chapter 1. ch 01}{}

I'd expect the first line to hold the text of the bookinfo/title tag
(similar to chapter/title, which works OK).

If I insert the text by hand and run pdfjadetex again, I get the
bookinfo/title text in the bookmarks - though in example.out again
I can't find it (because it's rewritten)

Maybe Sebastian can shed some light on this...

PS: I'm using jadetex 3.5
