MathML. follow links from www.w3c.org

thats a big subject. try http://indy.cs.concordia.ca/mathml/main.html
for useful pointers.
I suspect most practitioners would agree that MathML is still bleeding
edge, ie don't bet your life's work on it today.
Using the MathML DTD in Docbook is an amusing little topic by
itself. I believe Norm knows how to do it.
