The i686-nptl-linux-gnu builds just fine with:
  headers from linux-2.6.25.1
  binutils-2.18
  gcc-4.2.3 (C,C++,Fortran,Java)
  glibc-2.6.1

Using gcc-4.3 ? I didn't have time to test that...

I still have to check that the patchset I vampirised from the gentoo repos
works. I did a dropped-in dump of both the gentoo/ and uclibc/ directories
from the gentoo SVN a few days ago, but I'm not sure that's OK (in fact, I
*am* sure it's not, as either gcc or glibc does not build, depending on the
options I set).

I'm a bit short on time (as usual :-]), so any insights as to what is goin'
amiss would be welcome! :-)
