Btw, we built the linux kernel (ie 2.16.13) for MIPS with gcc 3.4.3, binutils 2.15 and glib 2.3.2 cross tools (ie mips-linux). The kernel image (vmlinux.srec) is not able to boot successfully on malta board (MIPS32 4K). While booting vmlinux.src file on malta, it prints 'LINUX Started' and goes into infinite loop @ init_time().
Any idea on this issue? Are there any docs available for building kernel and boot it on MIPS Malta target?
Just being curious... What were the general reasons to choose Linux/MIPS instead of for instance NetBSD/MIPS? If looking at the :
* It currently supports the MIPS Malta evaluation board with both the 4Kc (MIPS32) CPU board and the 5Kc (MIPS64) CPU board (running in 32-bit mode only)
